Catalyst works differently than your traditional KLWP preset due to its complexity. To make sure you have the best experience, this guide will walk you through the initial setup.

Pick a Launcher

Pick a launcher that is fully compatible with KLWP. Nova Launcher is recommended and is what we will be using for the rest of this tutorial. If you need help choosing, check out .

Once you have your launcher installed, change the following settings:

  1. Disable dock:

Tap and hold on your home-screen to bring the context menu. Navigate to Settings > Home Screen > Dock and disable it.

  2. Disable page indicators:

In settings, navigate to Home Screen > Page Indicator and set it to None.

  3. Hide status bar:

Navigate to Settings > Look & Feel > Show notification bar and disable it.

  4. Remove all widgets and icons from all home-pages:

The easiest way to clean all home-pages quickly is to remove them one-by-one. Here's how:

  5. Leave only 3 empty home-pages:

Swipe to the left to bring the new page option while in the context menu. Tap the big + button to create a new blank page. Repeat one more time until you have a total of 3 empty home-pages.

Allow Permissions (Android 10+)

A Kustom preset file contains assets such as fonts and images that are required to make it function as intended. KLWP requires file storage permission to be able to read those assets. Without file permissions, the preset appears broken.

To give KLWP proper storage permissions, go to your phone Settings > Apps > KLWP > Permissions > File & Media > Allow access to media only.
